It is with great sadness that the family of Wanda “Sissy” Nelson announces her passing on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in San Antonio. Sissy was born on January 31st, 1955, in Denver, Colorado. Sissy took great joy in her relationships with her parents, her five siblings, and her many nieces and nephews.
Although she was taken from her family and friends far too soon, Sissy lived a full and joyous life. Sissy will forever be remembered as a kind, loving woman with an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be missed every day and constantly kept in the hearts and prayers of every person whose life she touched.
She is survived by her sisters, Brenda “Dedo” Colvin and her husband Mike of Sabinal; Sherry Karschner and husband Rick of Lubbock; Morry Ogden, Jr. and wife Maudie of Bandera; sister-in-law Tricia Van Pelt of Sabinal; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a great-great-niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frankie and Maurice Ogden, siblings Rhonda Pennington and Chuck Van Pelt, and niece Lacey Ogden.
The family appreciates all those who have reached out with love and support. A celebration of her life is being planned in the coming weeks.
