Virginia Cook, 97, passed away peacefully at her home at the Veranda Assisted Living facility in Uvalde, Texas, on July 21, 2022.
Mrs. Cook was born in Etoile, Texas to James and Rosalie Spurgeon.
She is survived by her daughter, Gay Stone and husband, Terry of Concan, Texas; three grandchildren, Chris Brandt (Jenny), of White Oak, Texas, Adrienne Sweaney (Adam) of Midlothian, Texas, and Travis Stone (Cho) of Dallas, Texas, and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Betty Porter of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Darius Spurgeon of Fort Worth, Texas. She is predeceased by husband, G. Howard Cook, daughter, Carolyn Jo Brandt, and son-in-law Larry Brandt, as well as her parents and seven siblings.
