Veronica Canales, 49, of Batesville died on March 23, 2020, at her residence.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Batesville Cemetery with the Rev. Sonny Flores officiating.
Canales was born on Sept. 18, 1970, in Galveston to Herlinda Rubio Canales.
She was employed with the Zavala County Nutrition Center in Batesville for the past five years, through which she enjoyed serving the senior citizens of the community.
She was a member of Templo La Hermosa in Batesville.
She is survived by her mother, of Batesville; son, Roel Thomas Canales of Batesville; two brothers, Alexander Canales and wife, Rosalinda, of Uvalde, and Jesus A. Canales and wife, Jenny Lynne, of Ft. Hood; two sisters, Venessa Luna and husband, Larry, and Clarissa Rubio, all of Batesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Irene Cuellar, and paternal grandparents Guadalupe G. Canales and Thomas Canales Sr.; and two uncles, Jose Rubio and Eugene Rubio.
Pallbearers will be Estevan Ortega, Victor Lopez Sr., Julian Sanchez III, Francisco Javier Luna, Pete Luna and Eduardo Angulo. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesus A. Canales, Jo Ed Luna and Daniel C. Luna.
