Santos Martinez

Ms. Santos Roman Martinez of Uvalde passed away on May 13, 2021 at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital at the age of 87.  She was born in La Pryor, Texas to Serafin and Rosa (Cruz) Roman.

She is survived by her daughters, Santa Martinez Olivarez of Uvalde and Lupe Martinez Sevilla and husband, Pedro of San Antonio; son, Juan Roman Martinez and wife, Nora; grandchildren, Angie Olivarez, Luis Sevilla, Pete Sevilla, Nick Sevilla, Alex Sevilla, Juan H. Martinez and Jackie M. Sanchez; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Pete Sevilla, Pete Sevilla, Jr., Alex Sevilla, Luis Sevilla, Matthew Olivarez and Jimmy Sanchez.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Sevilla.
