Rosalio Sanchez

Rosalio Longoria Sanchez of Knippa, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Metropolitan Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 77.

Rosalio was born on August 30, 1944 in Dilley to Isidro and Refugia (Longoria) Sanchez.

He married Maria Catalina Aranda on May 18, 1980 in Crystal City.

Rosalio is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maria Catalina Sanchez of Knippa; three daughters, Marina Umana , Chablie Sanchez and Dionicia Mirelez all of San Antonio; 8 sons, Rosalio Sanchez Jr. and wife, Cathy Sanchez of San Antonio, Raul Sanchez and fiancee, Jamie of San Antonio, Angel Sanchez and wife, Eunice Sanchez of Killeen, Christopher Sanchez of Uvalde, David Sanchez of Uvalde, Joseph Sanchez of Knippa, Emmanuel Sanchez of Denver, Colorado and Nathaniel Sanchez of Knippa; three sisters, Ester Hernandez of Crystal City, Maria Sloan of Wichita Falls and Jesusa Jimenez of Greeley, Colorado; 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosalio is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Aguero, parents, two sisters, Francisca Martinez and Enedina Morquecho, and two brothers, Domingo Sanchez and Enrique Sanchez.

Visitation for Rosalio will begin on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary and vigil will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rosalio Sanchez Jr., Raul Sanchez, Angel Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez, David Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Emmanuel Sanchez, Nathaniel Sanchez, Rick Aguero and Marco Ortiz.
