Ramon Rios

Ramon Rios, 47, of Uvalde formerly of Batesville, Texas passed away on May 28, 2019 peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Ramon was born to Pedro and Anita (Vasquez) Rios on July 30, 1971, in Ionia, Michigan. He later moved to Batesville at a young age where he made it his home town for many years.  He married Marina (Quijano) Rios formerly of La Pryor in 2019 after being together for over 27 years.

He leave as his legacy his wife, Marina (Quijano) Rios and one child; Jeremy Quijano both of Uvalde.  He also leaves to cherish his memory 7 siblings; Pedro Rios, Juan Rios, Carlos Rios, Telma (Rios) Mutschler,  Maria (Rios) Christensen and husband, Wally, Joe Rios and wife, Deb  all from Michigan, Abel Rios and wife, Phyliss of Arizona; father in law, Joel Quijano of La Pryor, brother and sister in laws, Jesse Quijano and wife, Irma , Juanita (Quijano) Vasquez and husband, Leonard, Marcos Quijano, Victoria Quijano, Jose Quijano, Joel Quijano and wife, Elsa all of La Pryor, Martin Quijano and wife, Monica,  Robert Victorino and wife, Alma all of Uvalde; longtime family friend, Linda Wojcienko of Uvalde; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Anita Rios; brother, Mario Rios and lifelong partner, Judy Ciganic, mother in law, Francisca Quijano; brother in law, Bliss Mutschler, sister in law, Vivian Quijano, nephews, Joshua Ortegon, John Thomas Vasquez, and Jacob Allen Mutschler, Jr.

Visitation will begin on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A rosary will be held on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.    A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Cremation will follow.
