Petra Guerrero

Petra T. Guerrero of Uvalde passed away on September 14, 2021, at HCA North Cypress Hospital in Houston, Texas at the age of 82.

She was born on September 17, 1938 in Progreso Coahuila, Mexico to Zapopan Ramirez and Jose Torres. Petra married  Antonio Guerrero in Sabinas Coahuila, Mexico on March 21, 1955.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Antonio Diaz Guerrero of Uvalde; daughters, Candy Guerrero of Uvalde, Silvia De La Cruz and husband, Sergio of Uvalde, Leticia Guerrero of Houston, Norma Navarro and husband, Fernando of Venus, Texas; sons, Antonio Guerrero, Jr., Billy Guerrero and wife, Sandra of Del Rio, and Dr. Roy Guerrero and partner Jose Jaramillo of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Rose Guerrero also of San Antonio; 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Petra is preceded in death by her son,German Guerrero; parents, Zapopan Ramirez, Jose Torres; and granddaughter, Candace Teresa Garcia

She loved traveling, dancing, going to girl’s getaways and listening to music. Petra's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved big  and with all her heart, she will always be remembered as a social butterfly, loving and living life to the fullest.

Petra's final wish was to have everyone in attendance of her funeral wear a floral print or bright colors, no black.

Visitation will begin on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Gentleman serving as pallbearers will be Antonio Guerrero III, Allen Smith, Sergio De La Cruz Jr., Jonathon Garcia, Fernando Navarro Jr., Manny González, Kyle Smith, and Gabriel García. Honorary pallbearers will be Antonio Guerrero, Billy Guerrero, Dr. Roy Guerrero, Fernando Navarro, Sergio De La Cruz.
