Pete Castillo

Pete Castillo of La Pryor passed away on November 12, 2020 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde at the age of 91.

He was born on December 4, 1928 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Miguel and Maria Louisa (Rodriguez) Castillo.  He married Louise Rosales on January 7, 1950 in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

He is survived by five daughters, Rosa Quijano and husband Jesus, Mary Louise Saldivar all of La Pryor, Frances Perez and husband Cresencio of Marion, Savina Melendrez and husband Florencio, and Pauline Castillo all of La Pryor; three sons, Jose Manuel Castillo and wife Norma of San Antonio, Pedro Castillo, Jr. of La Pryor and Paul Castillo and wife Mary Lou of Seguin; three sisters, Mary Pearl Creech of Norman, Oklahoma, Virginia Ingram of Lookeba, Oklahoma and Madeline Reinhart of Gracemont, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, Rosie Ortiz and Ruby Martinez, son-in-law Pedro Saldivar Jr. and great granddaughter, Alyssandra Quijano.

A rosary will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Pryor. Burial will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jose Noel Quijano, Sammy Castillo, Zaragoza Perez, Pedro Saldivar III, Jared Castillo, Brianna Greene, Eddie Arroyos, Juan Pablo Castillo and Adrian Gonzales.
