Monseis L. Ybarra of Sabinal passed away on November 26, 2020 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 83.  He was born on September 9, 1937 in Sabinal to Ysa and Luisa (Lopez) Ybarra.

He married Yolanda Sandoval in Brackettville on January 9, 1955.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years of Sabinal; daughters, Nora Valdez and husband, Gustavo of San Antonio and Yolanda (Nana) Ybarra of Sabinal; sons, Joe Luis Ybarra and wife, Brandy of Sabinal, Jesse Ybarra and wife, Melba of San Antonio, Moises Ybarra, Jr. of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and Johnny Ray Ybarra and husband, Ricardo Burgos of New Braunfels; sisters, Julia Cardona and husband, Marcelino of Uvalde; Petra Flores of San Antonio; 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jose Luis Ybarra; daughter, Irma Hilda (Dida) Ybarra; sisters, Josefa Lara, Maria Valdez, Lupe Ybarra, Manuela Ramirez, Gloria Arreola, Leticia Grant; brothers, Felipe Ybarra, Alonzo Ybarra, and Gumecindo Ybarra; and grandson, Trinidad Ruiz, III.

A private funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal.

Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aiden Sebastian Ybarra, Austin Lee Lopez, Armando Y. Alejandro, Matthew Hector Olivarez, Omar Atilano Medina, Stefan Valdez,Gustavo Valdez Jr.
Alexis Paris Valdez, and Candie Alexis Valdez
