Mark Contreras

Mark Contreras of Uvalde passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Texas Vista Medical Center in San Antonio at the age of 53.

Mark was born on March 3, 1969 in Uvalde to Severo and Cruz (Vasquez) Contreras.

He is survived by three daughters, Bianca Contreras, Peyton Contreras and Sylina Rangel and husband Justin of Del Rio; sons, Jimmy Contreras and Mark Contreras and partner, Valerie Velasquez all of Uvalde; father, Severo Contreras Sr. of Knippa; sister, Barbara Juarez and husband, Mark of Hillsboro; two brothers, Severo Contreras Jr. and wife Sara of Huntsville, Alabama and Sam Contreras and wife, Mary of Uvalde; ten grandchildren, Jalen Contreras, Mia Contreras, Madison Contreras, Jenalyn Contreras, Joliette Contreras, Megan Rangel, Cori Contreras, Marky Contreras, Cyra Contreras and Kayia Contreras all of Uvalde; mother of his children, Rebecca Contreras of Uvalde; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Cruz Contreras; three brothers, Jimmy Contreras, Johnny Contreras and Tony Contreras and in-laws, Adolph and Estella Chapoy.

Visitation for Mark will start on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Knippa Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Juan Hurtado, Jalen Contreras, Eric Sandoval, Robert Silva, Marcus Hernandez, Roland Diaz, Ignacio Romo and Jesse Romo. Honorary Pallbearers are Adolph “Dundee” Chapoy, Rocky Martinez, Christian Chapoy, Mia Contreras, Madison Contreras, Jenalyn Contreras, Joliette Contreras, Megan Contreras, Cori Contreras, Marky Contreras, Cyra Contreras and Kayia Contreras.
