Maria Sanchez

Maria Nava Sanchez of Batesville passed away on December 29, 2020 in Hondo at the age of 73.

Maria was born on April 23, 1947 in Batesville to Anselmo and Roberta (Rodriguez) Nava.  She married Alfredo Garza Sanchez in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico on October 15, 1966.

She is survived by daughter, Eloisa Gomez and husband, Margarito of Hondo; two sons, Juan Sanchez and wife, Elicia and Ramiro Sanchez and wife, Cristina all of Batesville; two sisters, Teresa Nava and San Juana Nava both of Batesville; brother, Reymundo Nava and wife Helen of La Pryor; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Garza Sanchez son, Anselmo Sanchez, parents, and sister Herminia Morris.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 1, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A prayer service will be held Friday, January 1, 2020 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 2, 2020 at 11:30 am at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Morris, Matthew Sanchez, Adam Sanchez, Margarito Gomez, Robert Negrete, Jesus Martinez and Eliberto Sanchez.
