Luis (Louie) Ramiro Beltran Jr., 78, of Uvalde died on March 19th, 2022, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, TX.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25th at 2pm at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary Chapel. Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, March 24th from 2pm to 9pm at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary.

Cremation will be under the direction of Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary.

He was born on November 9th, 1943, in Laredo, TX to Berta Lona and Luis Beltran Sr.

Louie graduated from Martin High School in Laredo. He worked as a police officer for the San Antonio Police Department, a security manager for Sears, and held multiple positions at the 38th Judicial District Community Corrections Facility.

Louie worked part-time at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary after retirement. He also volunteered with hospice for several years.

Louie had a love for music and started a band in high school where he was the lead singer and guitarist. Later in life, he still enjoyed playing guitar, wood-working, and spending time at the family’s Lick Ranch. He was the go-to handyman for family, friends, and neighbors for many years. Louie was also a deacon at the Getty Street Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Johnna Beltran of Uvalde, his mom, Berta Beltran of Uvalde, his brother, Francisco Beltran and wife Minerva of Laredo. He is also survived by his three sons, Louie Beltran III and wife Erin of Pflugerville, Bobby Beltran and wife Kelly of Austin, and Wes Beltran and partner Joanna Valalis of San Antonio, and his daughter Caroline Ray and husband Alex of Austin. Other family members include his brother-in-law, Jerald Corder and wife Lisa of Austin, as well as five grandchildren, Alexander, Natalia, Lauryn, Ryan, and Kieran. He is also survived and loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Louie is preceded in death by his father, Luis Beltran Sr.
