Jose Pargas

Jose “Che-Che” B. Pargas Sr. of La Pryor passed away on January 26, 2021 at his residence at the age of 71.  He was born on December 31, 1949 in La Pryor to Ramon Pargas Sr. and Locadia Bermea.

He married Rosa Castillo in La Pryor on July 11, 1970.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years of La Pryor; daughter, Raquel Pargas Arroyos and husband, Eduardo of Uvalde, Rosanna Pargas and companion, Danny Joe Villanueva of La Pryor and Patricia Nicole Pargas El Dorado Kansas; sons, Joaquin Pargas, Jacob Pargas, Joshua Taylor Pargas and wife, Brenda of El Paso, Jose Bermea Pargas, III and wife, Mariana Miramontes, Julian Ray Pargas, Kevin McClanahan  all of La Pryor; sisters, Francisca Lopez  and Mary Alvarado both of La Pryor; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father; son, Joe Pargas Jr.; and brothers, Manuel Pargas, Ramon Pargas Jr., Arturo Basaldua, Reynaldo Del Toro, Raul Del Toro and Andres Del Toro, Sr.

A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Pargas, Joaquin Pargas, Joshua Pargas, Joey Pargas, Julian Pargas, and Kevin McClanahan. Honorary pallbearer will be Jericko E. Cervantez
