May 21, 1931 — October 2, 2021

Jimmie Ruth Coleman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 2, 2021 in her home in Georgetown, Texas.   She was born May 21, 1931, in Uvalde, Texas to Arthur June and Jimmie Eula Dean.  Jimmie was a 1948 graduate of Uvalde High school and went on to marry Malcolm Coleman on August 26, 1951.   Malcolm’s career with Motorola took them to many locations from Texas to Atlanta to Chicago and finally back home to Texas.   Jimmie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Malcolm Cecil Coleman; sisters Naomi Dean Hall; Florene Dean Natho, Gay Dean Merritt and brother A.J. Dean.  She is survived by her sons Malcolm Dean; Phillip Dale, and wife Brenda; Robert Dudley and wife Karen; and four grandchildren: Vanessa Lynne Coleman; Phillip Barnes Coleman and wife Ewa; John Patrick Coleman and wife Melinda; and Matthew Dean Coleman and wife Brandy.

Jimmie was a proud member of the Daughters of Republic of Texas, an avid genealogist, and collector of family photos and memorabilia.   She spent countless hours researching family history for her loved ones and shared many stories and legends of family pioneers and outlaws who lived in the Republic of Texas.

Jimmie enjoyed working for the American Lung Society as a Respiratory Therapist. She had a spunky personality and loved sharing her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit among her family and friends. Jimmie’s grandchildren brought great joy to her life and she loved spending time with them.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting and was in many Bridge groups throughout the years.

Gentlemen serving as honorary pallbearers include Phillip Coleman, John Patrick Coleman, Matthew Dean Coleman, Tommy Natho, Jim Paul Natho, Cody Smith and Jay Merritt.
