Jeremy Joe Atkinson was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior on September 19, 2021. He was born on February 2, 1981 in Uvalde, TX to parents Dean and Cindy Atkinson. He was baptized at Baptist Temple Church in Uvalde, TX on May 9, 2004 by Pastor Tony Gruben. He was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on November 12, 2006 at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Devine, TX by Rev. Odis Doyal.
On November 4, 2006, he was married to Monica Moerbe at Trinity Lutheran Church in Uvalde, TX by Monica’s grandfather, Rev. Raymond D. Reich. Two blessings were born of this union, Colton Lee Atkinson and Ashlyn Alene Atkinson, on October 8, 2015, and eight other blessings that were not born of this Earth are with him in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife-Monica Atkinson, children-Colton and Ashlyn Atkinson, parents-Dean & Cindy Atkinson, grandparents-Robert & Barbara Cathcart, parents-in-law-Merle & Janet Moerbe, brother-in- law Justin Moerbe & wife Amy Moerbe, Nieces-Addy & Callie Moerbe, Nephew- Braxton Moerbe, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his Heavenly children, his brother-Justin Lee Atkinson, grandparents-Edwin & Jewel Atkinson.
He graduated from Uvalde High School in 1999. He worked in San Antonio, TX for Energy Transfer as a lead fleet analyst. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio, TX. He was a resident of Hondo, TX.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 25 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes Knowles Mortuary and on Sunday at 2:30 PM at the church. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Uvalde, Texas at 3:30 PM on September 26, 2021 and Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Uvalde, TX. The Rev. Bill Tucker and Rev. Mark Tews will be officiating.
Pallbearers are Walter Moerbe IV, Justin Moerbe, Joseph Howell, Zack Moerbe, Matthew Muecke, and Bart Masters.
