Uvalde

Jeanne Marie Herrington Weeks of Uvalde passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020, at the age of 52.  Jeanne was born in Premont, Texas to Lillian and Herman Herrington.  Jeanne was preceded in death by both her parents.

After graduating from Premont High School, Jeanne attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville majoring in Business Marketing.  During this time, she married her true love, Mike Weeks, Jr. to whom she was married for 30 years.  Jeanne and Mike started their family in Premont and later moved to Uvalde, Texas.

Jeanne was an active partner in her family’s many endeavors.  Keeping books for the oilfield businesses, working cattle on the ranch and building a whitetail breeding program, were just a few of her many roles.  But her most prized role was being a mother to her two boys.  Jeanne was very involved in Tate and Logan’s activities, especially rodeo.  She spent many hours on the road and in the stands cheering and coaching.  Jeanne wouldn’t ride a horse, but she could tell when you needed to get your elbow up and your tip down!

Jeanne’s most blessed role of grandmother came with the arrival of Tate and Haley’s son, Hayes.  LaLa’s eyes lit up with just the mention his name.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Mike Weeks, Jr.; two sons, Tate (Haley) Weeks of Premont and Logan Weeks of Uvalde; and grandson, Hayes Weeks.  She is also survived by three sisters: Gwen (Ernest) Havner of Kerrville; Cathy (Leroy) Richter of Alice; Sherry (Shorty) Smith of Uvalde.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations being sent to Camp Rock of Georgia, where they care for boys & girls in foster care or children in crisis situations.

A celebration of life will be held at the family’s ranch, Cuatro Semanas, in Uvalde at 11:00 am on Friday, January 15th.
