James Brewster

October 4, 1932 — April 19, 2020

James Arthur Brewster, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on April 19th, 2020 at the age of 87.  He was born on October 4th, 1932 in Phelps County, Missouri. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years,Lela Brewster; their daughter Beverly Fabian and husband Gary of Kingsland; daughter Patricia Chisum and husband Larry of Leakey; daughter Sharon Hotard and husband Jay of Uvalde; son Neal Brewster and wife Lori of Uvalde; eight adoring grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister.  James served in the Korean War before moving to Uvalde. He was a well respected farmer in Uvalde and Batesville since 1962. He served as a deacon at the Baptist Temple Church in Uvalde and on the board for the Winter Garden Coop Gin in Batesville Texas.  At James’ request a family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory, may be made to a charity of your choice or to Baptist Temple Church, 620 E. Main St., Uvalde, TX 78801 or  Reaching Maximum Independence, 6336 Montgomery Dr., San Antonio, TX 78239.
