Hortencia Vara

Hortensia Vara of Uvalde, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her residence at the age of 86.

She was born on February 14,1936, in La Villa,Texas to Ramona Rubio and Domingo Trevino. She married Miguel J Vara Jr. on July 23,1955.

Hortensia is survived by her daughters; Oralia Ortega and husband Pantaleon from Uvalde, Olivia Sosa from Dallas, Odulia  Zamarripa  and husband Mariano of Uvalde, Olga Lidia Garcia and husband Frank of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and  Ramona Hernandez  and husband Jose of  Waynesville, Missouri;  Hortensia Fuentes and husband Rolando of Elgin Illinois sons, Miguel T. Vara III, and wife Gricelda of Uvalde, Ramon Vara and wife Dana of Natalia, Texas, Jesus Noel Vara of Uvalde; sisters Maria Socorro Ybarra of Uvalde and Juanita Charo of San Antonio, Texas,; brothers Juan Jose Trevino of Eagle Pass Texas and Manuel Angel Trevino of Uvalde.

Hortensia Vara is preceded in death by her husband Miguel J Vara Jr., parents; sisters, Teresa Rodriguez and Josefa Contreras, grandson Pantaleon Benjamin Ortega, great grandaughter Elina Morales,and great grandaughter. Abigail Ortega.

Visitation will begin Monday, May 30, 2022 @ 1 PM followed by a rosary at 7 PM at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde, Texas.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Francisco Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Miguel A. Vara , Jesus Noel Vara II, Ramon Enrique Hernandez, Gavino Vara, Benjamin Vara, and Benjamin Ortega.
