Gene Haynes

Gene Haynes was a longtime resident of Uvalde County, born August 26, 1943 in Utopia, Texas, to Joe Kenton Haynes and Bonnie Leta Ruth Haynes. He went home to the with the Lord on Monday, October 28, 2019.

He attended school in Leakey, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Daveene. They were married May 28, 1966 and had celebrated 53 years of marriage together.

He is survived by his wife, Daveene; by his four brothers, Gilbert Haynes, Aubrey Haynes, Jack Haynes, and James Haynes; and by his sister, Betty Haynes.  He is also survived by the following nieces and nephews ~ nieces: Tammy Haynes, Bonnie Bretzke, Jodie Bott, Jana Farthing, Susan Wagnon, Laurie Holt, and Shelli Stephens; and nephews: Kent Haynes May, Bert Haynes, Boot Haynes, Bimbo Haynes, Aubrey Paul Haynes, and James Haynes.

Gene Haynes was a member of the Reagan Wells Baptist Church, Reagan Wells, Texas. He was a carpenter. Also, he loved and helped to build race cars. He loved to worship the Lord and study the Bible.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Concan Cemetery in Concan, Texas on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2:30 P.M.
