Felipa Saiz

Felipa Puente Saiz of Knippa, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the age of 74.

Felipa was born on September 27, 1948, in Moorhead, Minnesota to Antonio V. and Alicia (Navejar) Puente of Crystal City.

She married Israel L. Saiz on July 23, 1994, in Uvalde.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working on crafts, and dancing. One of her most enjoyable moments was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their extracurricular activities.

Felipa is survived by two daughters, Patricia Garcia and husband, Joaquin of Uvalde and Annette Flores and husband, Eduardo of Knippa; two sisters, Maria Elena Cadena, Sylvia Ruiz and husband, Roberto; one brother, Sostenes Puente and wife, Maricela of Green Bay, Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren, Angelica Bermea, Leo Nell Bermea Jr. Julian Bermea, and Javier Joaquin Garcia; 1 great granddaughter, Amelia Castro; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Israel Saiz; one sister, Rosario Puente; and two brothers, Antonio Puente Jr. and Jose Puente.

Visitation for Felipa will start on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Thursday. December 8, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Knippa. Interment to follow at Hillcrest cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joaquin Garcia, Eduardo Flores, Armando Castro, Leo Bermea, Jr., Julian Bermea, and Javier Garcia.
