Elvira Madrigal Medina of Uvalde passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at her residence at the age of 94.
Elvira was born on January 6, 1927 in Progresso, Mexico to Antonio and Juanita (Verastegui) Madrigal.
She married Jose Medina on June 7, 1942 in Comales, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Elvira was own a thrift store for years named “My Closet”. She was a devoted Christian, who help at the orphanage in Quemado and San Antonio. Elvira enjoyed sewing dresses and quilting for your daughters.
Elvira is survived by five daughters, Dora Burk of Tulia, Elvia Espadas and husband Robert of Uvalde, Dina Angell and husband David of Rexburg, Idaho, Esmeralda Power and husband Terry of Wichita Falls and Chris Medina of Uvalde: three sons, Eleazar Medina and wife Sara of Amarillo, Daniel Medina and wife Carolyn of Mt. Home, Idaho and Rafael Medina of San Antonio; two sisters, Dolores Garza of Monterrey, Mexico and Noemi M. Mejia of Acapulco, Mexico; brother, Santiago Madrigal of Nuevo Laredo; 24 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband; two granddaughters, Brittany Leal and Andrea Cain; grandson, Adrian Medina; parents; two sister, Hortencia Ramos and Ofelia Madrigal.
Visitation for Elvira will start at 10:00 am on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Primera Iglesia Bautista.
Funeral service will on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Primera Iglesia Bautista. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
