Doroteo Flores

Doroteo C. Flores, 81, of Uvalde, Texas gained his wings and left to meet our Lord.  He passed on Friday, December 02, 2022, and is preceded in death by his sons Oscar Javier and David Flores.

He leaves behind his faithful wife of 59 years, Bertha G. Flores and numerous children.  Sons, Ricardo Flores and wife Esther, of San Antonio, TX; Federico Flores of Lawton, OK; Daniel Flores of Uvalde, TX., and Jesus Flores and wife, Cynthia of Uvalde, TX; daughters, Maria Guadalupe Gonzales of San Antonio, TX, Martha Gonzales and husband, Francisco of Uvalde, TX, and Rosario Mendez and husband, Alfredo of San Antonio, TX.  In addition he leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Known as Shorty to many, Mr. Flores was a loyal fan of the Uvalde Coyotes, both baseball and football.  He loved to dance and listen to music.  He was happiest when his children were around him and his wife; especially at cook-outs.  Often times you would see him driving his green journey or his little red ford pickup taking a cruise in town with his wife.  Never the shy man, he had many friends everywhere he went.

Celebration of his life will take place with a viewing on Tuesday, December 6th at 1:30 p.m  with a rosary at 7 p.m . A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, December 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Arrangements to be held by Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary at Uvalde, TX.
