June 28, 1928 — November 20, 2019

Dora Diaz Martinez, 91, of Austin, Texas, passed away on November 20, 2019 after a short illness.

The second oldest of a family of ten, Dora was born on June 28,1928, to Hortencia and Salome Diaz in Knippa, Texas. The family moved to Uvalde in 1934 where she, along with her other siblings attended Sacred Heart School and Uvalde High School. After graduating in 1947 she and her sister, Concepcion, worked at Dickies until she began work for Oscar Martinez at his finance business as head bookkeeper. It was there that she met her future husband, Eligio (Lico) Martinez. They were married on September 30, 1951 in Uvalde. In her later years after retirement, she subsequently worked at Lacks, where she was fondly remembered as kind, calm and dependable.

Always family oriented, she and her husband were parents to four children, George, Deborah, Monica, and Carlos.
