Cleo Wilsher

March 26, 1939 — September 13, 2021

Cleo Margie Wilsher, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many passed peacefully from this life with family by her side on Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home in Utopia, Tx.

Born March 26, 1939, in Mission, Texas to Orble Childers and Bertha Childers, she is survived by brother Hubert Childers of Stephenville, brother Leo Childers of Utopia, sister Judy Shelton of Corpus Christi, son Raymond Wilsher of El Campo, daughter Karen Green of San Antonio, daughter Ellen Jo McDonald of Utopia, and Cindy Peavy of Paris.  She is also survived by grandchildren Dustin McDonald, Alex Wilsher, Megan Wilsher, Evelyn Green, Krista McDonald, Ashley McDonald and one great-granddaughter Eilis Slomers.  She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.  She was preceded in death by her father Orble Childers, mother Bertha Childers, husband Wayne Arthur Wilsher, and granddaughter Kylie McDonald.

Cleo enjoyed working outside in her garden and growing all assortments of flowers and plants.  She spent many summers in Colorado with her husband and family where she would collect rocks for her garden.  She could be found until very recently wandering the ranch searching for the next perfect rock.  She enjoyed making crafts and creating decorations for the holidays. She loved her grandchildren and loved nothing more than having them all gathered for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Cleo was a devoted Christian that loved the Church family.  She spent two years teaching in a Christian school and taught bible classes at every congregation she attended.  You could find her very often, during the week, organizing her bible material for Sunday mornings class.  Not only did she put God first in her life, but she raised children and grandchildren that would do the same.  She was a shining example of what a Christian woman, wife, mother, and grandmother should be.

We, the family of Cleo Margie Wilsher, would like to thank you for your presence here today to say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, and loving sister in Christ.  Your being here is an encouragement to us and all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Utopia Church of Christ.  Interment will follow at Waresville Cemetery.
