She had a deep love of music and had a beautiful voice.  She sang in the choirs of the Cuero First United Methodist Church, the Smiley First United Methodist Church and the Red Oak First Methodist Church choirs, joining her family in the congregation for the sermons.

She loved dancing and swimming in the clear river at Garner State Park, and going to her Johnson family reunions every year with all her family and friends at the Frio River in Concan, Texas.
