Bonifacio G. Gandar of Uvalde passed away on September 7, 2021 at his residence at the age of 89. He was born on March 31, 1932 in Uvalde, Texas to Bonifacio H. Gandar and Fernanda Gonzales.
He married Alicia Alvarado on August 19, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years of Uvalde; daughters, Elizabeth Marquez and husband, Octavio of Uvalde, Texas and Edna Parkhill of Castroville, Texas; sons, Daniel Gandar and wife, Lily of Arlington, Texas and Oscar Gandar and wife, Marisela of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Lucia Sifuentes and husband, Joe of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Frank Gandar of San Marcos, Texas; grandchildren, Gabriela G. Marquez, Adriana G. Marquez, Sydney Gandar, Daniel Gandar, Jr., Jennifer Parkhill, Angela Tanner, Justin Parkhill, Brandon Gandar, Amanda Gandar, Emily Gandar, Amber Marie Gandar and Jason Gandar; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Norma Gandar; and sister, Lila Garza.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Octavio Marquez, Daniel Gandar, Frank Gandar, Jason Gandar, Justin Parkhill, Ted Ramirez and Daniel Gandar, Jr.
