Bobby Mccullough

June 18, 1946 — May 26, 2022

Bobby Andrew McCullough of Uvalde, Texas, left us to join his Lord on May 26th, 2022 at the age of 75 years.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Uvalde, Texas, on Monday, June 6th, 2022 from 10 AM to 11AM, followed by the service.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Brenda McCullough of Uvalde, Texas, and his loving sons, Jason McCullough and wife Betsy of Seattle, Washington, and Kyle McCullough and wife Allison of Uvalde, Texas.  He goes to join his parents, R.O. McCullough and Floyce of Electra, Texas.  Bob's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Zoe McCullough and fiancé Stephen Easley, Madison McCullough, Payton McCullough, Cailey Seiler, Cayden Seiler, Makenna Elrod and Holden Elrod of Uvalde, Texas; his siblings, Ruth Ferry and husband Mike of Abilene, Texas; Etta Trantham and husband Mike of Abilene, Texas; and Jesse McCullough and wife Tracey of San Angelo, Texas; his brother-in-law Jerry and wife Carol Adkins of Glastonbury, Connecticut; and his sister-in-law Shelley Eiserloh of Wichita Falls, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

After growing up in Electra, Texas and graduating from high school in 1964, Bob started his career just three days later at the Texas Electric Service company, now TXU Energy. Bob worked and studied to earn his associate's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in the class of 1968.  Bob proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 in the United States Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees).  He returned to Wichita Falls, Texas and worked for 37 years as a draftsman and then right of way agent.

Bob met Brenda on a blind date, set up by their childhood friends.  Contrary to the warning of Bob's future best man that it probably wasn't going to last because Brenda was so talkative and Bob so quiet, they were married on September 2nd, 1972.  An inseparable, doting couple for the next 49 years, they were blessed with two sons, Jason and Kyle.

Bob was the most patient, lovable, and playful father any child could hope for, through years of horsing around, camping trips, coaching, and leading on trips and activities, first to his sons, and then to their his granddaughters.  He was called Granddad by seemingly all the children who ever met him.

Following his retirement, Bob and Brenda moved from Wichita Falls to Uvalde in 2006 to see their grandchildren on a daily basis, taking a lot of friends with them and making new ones in his church home of First Baptist Church of Uvalde, Texas.  Bob enjoyed volunteering at FBC and his granddaughter's schools, selflessly and humbly, whenever and for whatever was needed.

Bob and Brenda loved to get together with family and friends to play cards and canasta, going camping with friends and family, or snowmobile up in Red River.  When not together with them you would find him out tinkering in the shop on a little project for family or friends, or watching just about every Western ever made.
