Rio Frio

Our beloved mother, Bo Allen, entered her heavenly home on January 19, 2022. She was born in Rio Frio, Texas, to Fait and Jewel Crouell. She cherished her memories growing up in Rio Frio, along with her sisters and cousins, doing chores, roaming the hills, playing on the Ditch, going to the Rio Frio Church and attending the Rio Frio School. Her beginnings were humble, her family lived in a tent for a year, but it was filled with love. Later her family moved to Uvalde where she graduated from Uvalde High School.

She married Sam Allen, the love of her life and her forever dancing partner, and they spent their life working side by side owning and operating Sam’s Exxon Stations in Uvalde. When they sold the stations, she continue to work for Maxey Energy for many years. After retiring from Maxey Energy, she became “The Boss” of her grandson’s business, Rimkus Management, continuing to work for the family business until her death.  Her work ethic and love she showed others was incredible.

Her greatest joy was her family. Each grandson truly believes he is her favorite. She hosted large gatherings of her kids as often as possible. She followed them closely in sports and school activities and was their #1 fan. She was a Christian who exemplified love, kindness and caring for others. She never met a stranger. She expected much from all of us, but gave more than any of us.  Words cannot describe the depth of our grief or how much we will miss her smile, her touch, her guidance each and every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Allen; three sisters Nean(Jake) Horton, Laurie(George) Vaughn, and Jerry(Jack) Harrell.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Danny (Nancy) Rimkus, Ginger(WB) Patterson, Becky(Randy) Gerdes; grandchildren Brett (Renee)Rimkus, Leslie(Pat) Lonsdale, Ashley(Paul) Gustowski, Cuatro(Kendall) Patterson, Jack(Kathy)Patterson, Sheryl(Jim) Wilson, Sami(Blake)Harris, Chase(Ashley)Gerdes, Hunter(Elizabeth)Brunk; and Lauren(David)Pereyra;  twenty-six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 2:00 p.m.  - 5:00 p.m.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

We extend our sincere gratitude to her loving caregivers and the entire Uvalde Hospice Team.
