Anastacio Escalante

Anastacio Escalante of Uvalde passed away on March 9, 2019 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 100.  He was born on March 19, 1918 in San Bartolo, Guanajuato, Mexico to Aurelia (Almendariz) and Felix Escalante.  He is survived by four daughters, Mary Lou Estrada and Hilda Navarro and husband, Benito, all of Uvalde; and Ynez Sanchez and Elisa Saenz, both of Chicago, IL; two sons, Mario Estrada and wife, Nolie of Chicago; and Luis Estrada and wife, Mirna of Uvalde; companion, Adelfa Arreola of Uvalde;  and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Paula Alvarez Escalante in 1991; son, Roberto Estrada; and daughter, Socorro Gutierrez.  Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
