Vola Bridges

Vola Gene Bridges, of San Antonio TX, passed away on December 8th, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born in Fort Worth TX to Joseph Stephens and Flossie “Marie” Stephens (nee Welborn).  Vola was married to Ted Bridges, who preceded her in death.

Anyone who knows Vola knows she loved going on cruises, collecting turtles, bowling, playing solitaire, playing Skip-Bo, eating ice cream, and was a proud member of her church. Tied at the top, however, is her love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the San Antonio Spurs. (David Robinson, in particular).

Before retirement, she was the Director of Training for an Automotive Research company.

Vola is survived by her sons Frank (Alma) Bellino, Vince (Cyndi) Bellino, and Joseph Bellino. Her brothers Troy “Rex” Stephens, and Scott (Heather) Stephens. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jennifer Moreno – Moises (15), Lilianah (13), Aubrianah (8), and Arez (3); Karianne Lent – Sophie (12); Vinnie (Shasta) Bellino – Rylee, (8), Jem (7), Harper (3), and Preslie (1); Nick (Jen) Bellino – Sophia (11), Sam (9), and Maddie (9); Iris “Abby” Bellino; and Logan Bellino. Her nieces and nephews: Troy (Trisha) Stephens; Stephanie (Walter) Wilson; Cheryl Stephens; William (Nancy) Stephens; niece-in-law Sheree Stephens; and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Vola is preceded in death by her father Joseph Stephens, mother Marie Stokes, step-mother Dorothy Stephens, step-father Weldon Stokes, brother Bill Stephens, sister-in-law Billie Stephens, sister-in-law Betty Stephens, and nephew Ronald Stephens.

Graveside service will be held on December 19th, 2022 at 11:00am at Sabinal Cemetery in Sabinal, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you go get ice cream or go bowling with loved ones, two things Vola loved very much.
