Virginia Scoggin

Virginia Wanda Scoggin of Cleburne, Texas formerly of Uvalde passed away on August 4, 2019 in Cleburne at the age of 90.  She was born on August 9, 1928 in Snyder, Texas to Thomas and Vera (Chandler) Backard.

Virginia married Charles Scoggin on November 9, 1946 in Crystal City, Texas.

Virginia grew up in Carrizo Springs, TX. Her family moved to Uvalde, TX in 1957. She was employed at JC Penney for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter; Ginger Maher of Tucson, Arizona; son, Greg Scoggin of Whitney, TX; grandchildren, Jill Matthews and husband, Cameron McKay of Tucson,AZ, Joey Scoggin and wife, Cindy, and Bethany Scoggin of Ft Worth, TX; great grandchildren Charlie Mc Kay, Murphy McKay, Avery Scoggin and Kai Scoggin

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; her siblings; daughter- in- law; and niece

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Getty Street Church of Christ in Uvalde. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
