Vicki Lynn Allen

December 19, 1941 — February 27, 2026

Vicki Lynn Kirksey Allen went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and family.

Vicki was born on December 19, 1941, in Monterey Park, California to Chris and Dell Kirksey. She grew up in Slaton, Texas with her sister Peggy, and attended Slaton High School where she met her husband, Jerry. They settled in Boerne, Texas, where they raised their family.

Vicki spent most of her career in healthcare working in hospital and doctor’s office settings. Her favorite roles included working as a receptionist for Dr. Mason in Boerne and later as a medical transcriptionist at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. While a dedicated employee, her real value was in the way she approached every day. She brought a special “something” to each person she encountered. To know Vicki was to love her, and to be loved by her. Later in life, she served her church, First Baptist Church of Uvalde, as leader of the Homebound Ministry. Her genuine warmth and compassion blessed those she ministered to.

Vicki’s passion in life was her family. Raising her three children was her main mission. Ever present at her children’s activities, she was their biggest cheerleader. She truly lived by example, teaching the value of hard work, putting others first, and being the best version of yourself. Along with loving her children, her true pride and joy were her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. “Mimi” was endlessly supportive, unbelievably sweet and effortlessly funny – the perfect grandma. All have been blessed by her Christian walk and undeniable love for the Lord.

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and niece, Lyndee. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Antilley; her friend for life, Nina Pool; her children, Bret Allen (Nadalee), Jana Gardenhire (Tal) and Staci Allen (Julie); her grandchildren, Bailee Hendry (Scott), Summer Louder (Jarrett), Korlee Aguilera (Juan), Tucker Allen, Chase Gardenhire (Hannah), Paige Franklin (Jesse), Kalli Tschaar (Hayden), Will Gardenhire (Grace), Ty Duos, and Remy Duos; her great-grandchildren, Kaelynn and Rylee Hendry, Jace Louder, Allie Mae and Ella Aguilera, and Asher Harrington; her niece Christi Saunders; and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Franklin, Baby Gardenhire, and Baby Tschaar this summer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, 11:00 am, at First Baptist Church, Uvalde. Memorial gifts may be directed to First Baptist Church, Uvalde or any preferred organization.
