Trinidad Uriegas Bermea III

November 12, 1950 — July 22, 2025

La Pryor

Trinidad Uriegas Bermea III, a loving father, dedicated brother, and cherished friend, passed away on July 22, 2025, at St. Lukes Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Born on November 12, 1950, in Uvalde, Texas, Trinidad was a vibrant soul who touched many lives throughout his 74 years.

Trinidad’s impressive career began with a long tenure at HEB, where he served for 30 years before embracing his passion for the cooking. For the last two decades, he proudly owned and operated a restaurant, earning him a well-deserved status as the “Taco King.” His culinary talents led him to the front page of the food section in the San Antonio Express and featured him in the Mexico newspaper Periódico Zócalo. In 2003, he appeared in an episode of Texas Country Reporter, sharing his love for food and community.

In addition to his career accomplishments, Trinidad was a remarkable family man who always put his loved ones first. He took immense pride in providing unwavering support for his siblings, and his gentle guidance was a cornerstone of his family life. Trinidad is survived by his beloved mother, Dolores Urigeas Bermea, and his three sons: Trinidad Bermea IV and wife Tamatha of New Braunfels, Isaac Bermea and wife Annette, and Isreal Bermea, both of La Pryor. His legacy will continue through his nine grandchildren: Tatiana, Julian, Amaya, Mia Lynn, Jamie Lizette, Adriana, Casey, Charlotte, and Camila, who will forever remember their grandfather's joyful spirit and warmth.

Trinidad graduated from La Pryor High School, where then he was eventually drafted in 1969 to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Also a passionate outdoorsman and self-proclaimed cowboy fan, when it came to camping, he preferred to "rough it" — a true adventurer at heart who insisted that camping required nothing less than a sturdy tent. Well-known for his engaging personality, Trinidad loved to converse and share stories, leaving a lasting impression on those around him. He enjoyed playing bass and singing with his music group, Conexcion Tejana, in the late 70s to mid-80s, showcasing yet another facet of his vibrant life.

Trinidad is survived by his siblings: Irma married to Juan Gallegos (La Pryor), Arturo married to Edna(Uvalde), Carmen married to Alfredo Valle(La Pryor), Elvira married to Houshang Cichani (Wilmington. Delaware), Elva married to Marcos Rangel(La Pryor), Homer married to Belinda(La Pryor), Joe married to Sandra(San Antonio), Esmerelda married to the late Gilbert Lozano(La Pryor), Leo married to Suzie(La Pryor), his brother Johnny(Austin) and his youngest sister Vanessa(San Antonio). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his spirit forward in their lives.

Trinidad's journey was not without its losses, having been predeceased by his wife, Celinda Najera Bermea, and his father, Trinidad Bermea Jr. He also mourned the loss of his brother Raul, who is survived by his wife, Ida, living in Alvin, Texas.

Funeral services are pending.

Trinidad Uriegas Bermea III's lasting impact on his family and friends serves as a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to those he treasured. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
