Tomas Ortiz Galvan

Tomas Ortiz Galvan, Jr., 82, of Batesville, Texas passed away on July 9, 2025, at St. Lukes Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born on November 10, 1942, in Mesa, Arizona to Juanita (Ortiz) and Tomas Galvan, Sr.

He married Anita Louise Padilla on September 22, 1974, in Pueblo, Colorado.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years of Batesville; six daughters, Deidra Galvan of San Antonio and Senida Lasater of Pueblo, Colorado, Griselda Leota of Casa Grande, Arizona, Theresa Houghland of Arizona, Dianna Turlea and husband, Davie of Arizona and Alma Lacayo of Arizona; ; three sons, Thomas Galvan and companion, Mindy Hernandez, Tony Galvan all of Batesville and Tomas Guedea and wife Grace of Pearsall; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dolores Rodriguez and Rosa Sandoval; grandson, Sheldon Chance Galvan, and Mary Helen Bernal.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Galvan Cemetery in Batesville, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Jay Fonseca, Deidra Galvan, Tony Galvan, Jeremiah Garza, Giovanni Galvan, and Alister Lasater.
