Terry Beth Studer

Terry Beth Studer, 66, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 18, 2025, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Terry was born on May 10, 1959, in Hondo, Texas, to Erline (Lutz) and Ray Mumme, Jr. She grew up with strong family values that shaped her into the compassionate, selfless woman so many came to know and love.

For over 25 years, Terry devoted her life to education as a math teacher, leaving a lasting impact on countless students. She was known not only for her intelligence and dedication, but for her patience, kindness, and genuine desire to see others succeed. Teaching was more than a career to Terry—it was a calling rooted in her deep heart for service.

On March 15, 1980, Terry married the love of her life, Bobby Studer, in Hondo, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, travel, and unwavering devotion. Terry loved traveling anywhere as long as she was with Bobby and their beloved yellow lab, Molly. Their favorite place was their vacation home on Lake Medina, where she found peace riding around the lake, soaking in the beauty of nature and the joy of simple moments.

Terry was the heart of her family. She cherished family gatherings and was famous for her German chocolate cake, a labor of love that became a treasured tradition. Her home was always a place of warmth, welcome, and comfort. Terry had an enormous heart, always putting others before herself, quietly serving wherever she was needed, and giving without expectation.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Bobby Studer of Uvalde; her mother, Erline Helms of Hondo; her son, Preston John Studer and wife, Elise of Doss; two sisters, Cindy Helou and husband, Jay, and Chrie McCue and husband, Rick, all of Hondo; her brother, Roy Mumme and wife, Tina of D’Hanis; and her three cherished grandchildren, Presley Rae Studer, Easton John Studer, and Stormy Harper Studer. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were blessed by her love and guidance.

Terry was preceded in death by her father, Ray Mumme, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Uvalde United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Terry Beth Studer will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her servant’s heart, and the profound love she poured into her family, students, and community. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
