Sylvia Lara

Sylvia Lara of Knippa passed away on May 17, 2009 in San Antonio at the age of 52. She was born in Uvalde on August 6, 1956 to Bernardino and Esiquia Velasquez Lopez. She married Hector Lara on February 1, 1974 in Uvalde. She is survived by her husband of 35 years; daughter, Krystle Deanne Lara of Uvalde; son, Hector Lara, Jr. wife, Kahla of Uvalde; sisters, Nicolasa Rodriguez and Dora Payne, both of Uvalde; three brothers, Bernardino Lopez, Jr.; Rogelio Lopez; and Albert Lopez, all of Uvalde; four grandchildren, Mark Anthony Lara; Kole Sean Lara; Kaydalina Deanne Lara; and Hali Kathleen Lara; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Andres Lopez. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde with burial to follow in Knippa Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Lara; Alex Gonzales; J.R. Rodriguez; Roy Lopez; Darrel Padilla; and Arturo Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Anthony Lara; Kaydalina Deanne Lara; Kole Sean Lara; and Hali Kathleen Lara.
