Sulema Olvedo Flores of Uvalde passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 66.
Sulema was born on July 28, 1954 in Sister Bay, Wisconsin to Adan Oscar and Esperanza (Vasquez) Olvedo.
She is survived by her mother, Esperanza Olvedo of Uvalde; two daughters, Michelle Flores of Fort Worth and Cecilia Flores of Uvalde; three sons, Robert Flores Jr. of Conroe, David Flores of Rhome and Richard Flores of Uvalde; sister, Diana Karau of Uvalde; four brothers, Robert Olvedo of Crystal City, Jose Olvedo of Uvalde, Richard Olvedo of Uvalde and Oscar Olvedo of Abilene; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Adan Oscar Olvedo, grandson, Jeremih Flores and two brothers, Roy Vasquez and Armando Olvedo.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 13, 2020 starting at 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary will be held on Thursday August 13, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Sutton, Alejandro Granado, David Flores Jr. Gabriel Flores, Kristian Silva, Xzavier Dominguez
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Flores and Nicholas Flores
*100-person maximum can be accommodated at the funeral chapel at a time for Visitation. Upon entering the funeral home, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building.
*150-person maximum can be accommodated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Upon entering the Church, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building
