Socorro Morin Talamantez, 95, of Uvalde passed away on June 14, 2026, at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde.

She was born on June 27, 1930, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico to Paula (Rodriguez) and Eluterio (Morin).

She dedicated her life to her family, always placing the needs of her children and loved ones above her own. She found great joy in sewing, a talent she lovingly shared through the years. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her children and helping nurture her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with family and friends, and her kindness, strength, and devotion will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Socorro Davis of Uvalde; two sons, Juan Talamantez of Uvalde and Dario Talamantez and wife, Cathy of Seguin; sister, Esperanza M. Rodriguez of Saltillo, Mexico; grandchildren, Yolanda Juarez, Mario Juarez, Richard Juarez, Jackie Melendez, Antonio Talamantez, Jr., Elizabeth Talamantez, Alicia Talamantez, Josie Talamantez, Dario Talamantez, Jr., Robert Talamantez, Juan Alejandro Talamantez, Mireya, Talamantez, Erik Talamntez, Teresa Ramos Berg, Oscar Cassiano and Melvie Cassiano; great grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Juarez, Eleodoro Garza, Jr., Yesenia Widlund, Zoey Talamantez, Angela Talamantez, Olivia Talamantez, Alexander King Talamantez, Iston Miguel Maldonado, Ana Yelii Maldonado, Christian Alexander Talamantez, Richard Juarez, Jr., Jackie Juarez, Freddy Robert Melendez, John Eric Melendez, Marissa Melendez, Maria Juarez, III, Destiny Juarez, Angelica Marie Juarez, Emelda Juarez, Juan Alejandro Talamantez, Jr., Angel Leonardo Talamantez, Angelica Talamantez, Eric Garcia Talamantez, Jr., Anthony Talamantez, Camila Talamantez, Ava Talamantez, Sariah Hichs Anayah Huc, Tony Talamantez, III and Lizette Talamntez; great-great grandchildren, Anthony Juarez, Kaylee Juarez, Ava Juarez, Leo Garza, Malachi Garza, Emilio Garza, Mateo Garza, Arris Widlund, Phoenix Widlund and Kaydence Flores; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Secundino Talamantez; sons, Antonio Talamantez and Guadalupe Ramos; grandson, Robert Juarez, and granddaughter, Jaqueline Melendez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
