Simon Hernandez, of Uvalde, TX was born February 8, 1958, in Beeville, TX to the proud parents of Leopoldo Willie and Adelfa Hernandez.
Simon gained his wings and rode free on February 12, 2023.
Growing up, Simon worked in Sales alongside his father and eventually owning and running a family-operated business for H&H Sales, and later worked until his retirement from Frito Lay. He grew up in Alice, TX where he was a dedicated Saxophone player until his graduation in 1976 before setting off to Texas A&I - Kingsville and University of Texas at Austin.
Simon lived his life enjoying and spending time with his family and friends. He loved riding his motorcycle, reading many books, rooting on the Cowboys and the Spurs, woodworking, traveling the states, fishing, visiting museums, barbecuing, talking politics, B.S.-ing with everyone, and going to Hooters.
Simon is survived by his loving wife, Andrea, his children, daughter Nichole, and sons, Simon and wife Tashia, Sergio, and James and companion, Audrey Guzman. His mother, Adelfa, and his siblings, Rudy and wife Missy, Delia and husband Napoleon, Victor and wife Linda, and Art and wife Veronica. His grandsons Gage, Bradley, Chad, and Jadyse, including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Leopoldo Willie Hernandez, brother Marco Hernandez, mother-in-law, Lupita Perez, sister-in-law, Mary Longoria, two brother-in-laws, Jr. Perez and Nacho Perez and grandparents.
He will be missed dearly by all those he has grown to know and love throughout his lifetime.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
