Sherrii Woodward

September 16, 1971 — August 21, 2025

Prescott Arizona

Our beloved Sherrii Lynn Woodward entered this world on Thursday, September 16th, 1971, at 5:10 am, and peacefully departed to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 21st, at 9:16 am in Arizona.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. at  Ascension Episcopal Church in Montell, Texas.

Sherrii's love of learning began at Saint Phillips Day School, where she attended kindergarten through 3rd grade. She continued her education at Agape Christian Academy for 4th through 6th grades. After attending school in Uvalde through the middle of her sophomore year, she moved to Junction, Texas, where she graduated in 1990. She continued her education at Angelo State University, where she was initiated into the Zeta Kappa chapter on December 14, 1991.

Following her confirmation by Reverend Nick Mayor, Sherrii faithfully served as an acolyte at Saint Phillips Episcopal Church for four years. She remained a devoted member of Saint Phillips throughout her entire life. Her deep love for the Lord led her to study Hebrew at the time of her passing. She found great joy in reading and studying the Bible, history, and commentaries from leading preachers and archaeological sources, often sharing meaningful discussions with her mother.Sherrii's remarkable linguistic gifts allowed her to speak four languages—English, Spanish, French, and German—and she was devotedly learning Hebrew to deepen her biblical studies. She had also studied Latin and Gaelic during her educational journey. Bob and Sherrii often shared deep conversations about Hebrew, as Bob had spent a month consulting and studying in Jerusalem, where he shared his experiences at the Wailing Wall and insights from his rabbi consultant, enriching their spiritual journey together. Sherrii was a talented pianist and an elegant, graceful dancer who studied ballet, tap, and jazz at the Delia Kincaid School of Dance. Her wonderful imagination shone through in the magical stories she created, like her fantasy tale about skating with Jennie on Saturn's rings, which she imagined were made from the dust of diamonds, rubies, and sapphires.Sherrii embraced all of God's creation with wonder and acceptance—even keeping a pet scorpion and spider! Her passions included astronomy, cooking, and pottery classes, which she was enjoying when her illness returned. With her wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook, she was never cruel or unkind, accepting everyone as they were and always seeking the good in everything.Family meant everything to Sherrii. She was fiercely loyal and supportive of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her circle of love extended to many friends whom she adopted as family, especially her treasured "Aunties" Alicia, Erma, and Cindy.Sherrii's heart held special places dear: her grandparents' Herndon's Live Oak Ranch, her grandmother Elizabeth's Ballano property in Kingsland, Texas, where she spent countless happy hours playing in the river and hunting for arrowheads, and Lake Amistad, where she was an avid water skier. She deeply loved her adopted state of Arizona and delighted in exploring its beautiful countryside. For 23 precious years, Sherrii and Bob Kendall shared an extraordinary life filled with mutual love that few are lucky enough to experience. Bob was the love of her life; she was his, giving her all the love and support she could ever want and making her truly happy. Together, they traveled to their favorite places in California and were building their dream home—a mountain retreat—when illness struck. Although their time was cut short, their life together was full of deep love and adventure.Their love never wavered, even when faced with her terrible illness. Bob stood steadfastly by her side throughout her battle for life, helping her find potential treatments and even considering a move to Bangkok to work with specialists. Through it all, they remained devoted to each other. Bob was there supporting her until her very last breath, when her final words to him were, "I love you forever."Sherrii truly lived a life of kindness, compassion, love, prayer, and service to all in need. She treated everyone with respect and integrity, never engaging in gossip, always looking for the good in everyone she met. From a good baby to a loving and precious child, Sherrii grew into a beautiful woman whose light touched everyone around her. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
