Rosalio B. Contreras, Jr.

Rosalio B. Contreras, Jr., 85, of Uvalde, passed away on January 17, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on January 8, 1941, in Uvalde, Texas to Lupe (Barrios) and Rosalio Contreras, Sr..

He married Guadalupe Sanchez on July 9, 1966, in Uvalde, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Guadalupe Contreras, of Uvalde; three daughters, Karen Kuegel and husband, Patrick of Austin, Texas, Pilar Guajardo and husband, Marcos of San Angelo,Texas, Michelle Smith and husband, Kenneth, of Uvalde; two sons, Carlos Contreras and wife, Linda, Abraham Contreras and wife, Sunjin all of Uvalde; one sister, Olivia Cancino, of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Loretta Vela and Lila Vasquez; and two brothers, Alfredo Contreras and Rogelio Contreras.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Marcos Guajardo, Patrick Kuegal, Kenny Smith, Abraham Contreras, Dante Contreras, Carlos Contreras, Ignacio Balbuena, and Norberto Balbuena.
