Rodolfo S. Borrego, Jr.

Rodolfo S. Borrego, Jr., 75, of Sabinal, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 2, 2024, at his residence.  

He was born on August 1, 1948, in Sabinal, Texas to Virginia (Salas) and Rodolfo Borrego, Sr., he was raised by his grandparents, Santos and Anita Fabela.  

He married Estella Amescua on February 25, 1966, in Uvalde, Texas.  

He is survived by his wife, Estella Borrego of 58 years of Sabinal, Texas; two daughters, Delia Borrego and Virginia Borrego both of Sabinal; five sisters, Dolores Fabela of Greenville, Frances Martinez, of Quanah, Alice Borrego, Belinda Borrego, and Marivel Borrego all of San Antonio; brother, George Borrego of San Antonio; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; son, Rodolfo Borrego, III, son in law, Juan Aguilera, Sr., three brothers, Gilberto Borrego,  Jesus Fabela, and Santos Fabela, Jr.; and three sisters, Beatrice Borrego, Maria Salinas, and Lile Herrera.  

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal.  

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.   

Pallbearers will be Juan Aguilera, Jr., Jacob Davis, Gabriel Gonzales, Israel Gonzales, Louie Amescua, Jr., Jonathon Martinez, Danielle Borrego, and Andrew Borrego

Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy “Bocho”Borrego and Alejandro Fabela
