Rebecca Polanco

Rebecca F. Polanco of Uvalde passed away at her residence on December 8, 2020 at the age of 71.

She was born November 28, 1949 in Uvalde to Jose and Natalia (Garcia) Flores.

Rebecca attended school in Uvalde.  She helped her mom care for her younger siblings She was a hard-working woman who worked many years in agriculture alongside her family and friends.  Rebecca truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, cooking and gatherings with family, friends’ children and her grandchildren. Chatting and caring with all her nieces and nephews.  Rebecca was a bright and vivacious woman who was beautiful both inside and out. Rebecca will be truly missed.

Rebecca is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jose Polanco of Uvalde; two daughters, Sulema Torres and Maricela Polanco Lynch and wife, Pamela all of of Uvalde; four sisters, Beatrice Losoya of Uvalde, Susana Sing of Dilley, Isabel Hernandez of Laredo and Juana Mancha of Uvalde; brother, Juan G. Flores of Uvalde; five grandchildren, Ashley Torres, Chrissy Torres, Roy Torres, Jr. Natalie Nichole Fernandez and Jose Sotero Arredondo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Dora Flores, Raquela Flores and Frances Cordova

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm and Monday, December 14, 2020 from 8:30 am to 9;00pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Perez, Tony Moreno, Alex Cardenas, George Rios, Gilbert Granado and Gilbert Mancha.

Cremation under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
