Raymond "Monchin" Martinez, Jr.

Raymond A. “Monchin” Martinez, Jr. of Uvalde, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 57.  He was born on February 21, 1964, in Uvalde, Texas to Ramon Martinez and Mary Aguirre.

He married Gracie Castillo in Uvalde, Texas on December 18, 1982.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Salazar of Dilley, Texas; wife, Gracie Martinez of 39 years of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Marilyn Martinez and fiancé, Rene Garcia, II of San Antonio, Texas and Raelyn Martinez-Zamora and husband, Mark of Uvalde, Texas; sons, Raymond “RJ” Martinez, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Uvalde, Texas; sister, Veronica Martinez of San Antonio; brother, Adrian Martinez of Uvalde, Texas; grandchildren, Faithlyn Amber Rae Martinez, Angelina Arayah Martinez, Orlando Guerrero, Jr., Nevaeh Martinez, Rhys Luke Garcia, Rhylee Garcia, Rhyan Lane Garcia, Terah Leann Martinez, Adalynn Rae Martinez, Raymond Jay Martinez, Mark Andrew Zamora, Jr., Michael Ace Zamora, and Matthew Adam Zamora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ramon “Monche” Martinez and sister, Elsa Martinez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Orlando Guerrero, Jr., Adrian Martinez, Jr., Jaime Gutierrez, Chris Gutierrez, Arnold Gutierrez, Chris Plaza and Armando Gutierrez and Faithlynn Amber Rae Martinez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terah Leann Martinez, Mark Andrew Zamora, Jr., Raymond J. Martinez.
