Raul Gonzales

Raul Lopez Gonzales, 68, of Uvalde, passed away on April 27, 2026, at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio.

He was born on October 21, 1957, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Esperanza (Lopez) and Remigio Gonzalez.

He is survived by five daughters, Esperanza Escamilla and husband, Luis, Yolanda Gonzales and companion, Jose Peña all of Uvalde; Eloisa Sanchez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Laura Larralde and husband, Rolando of Plainview, Texas and Esmeralda Martinez and husband, Hector of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; son, Cesar Rodriguez and wife, Jacqueline of Española, New Mexico; three sisters, Florencia Ortiz of Uvalde, Adelina Sanchez of Kerrville, and Carmen Day of Uvalde; four brothers, Victor Gonzalez of Laredo, Ricardo Gonzales, Jorge Gonzales, and Francisco Gonzales all of Uvalde; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Remigio and Esperanza Gonzalez; his loving wife, Dolores Rodriguez; sister, Alicia Garcia; daughter, Maria Elena Rodriguez; and brother, Remigio Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on April 30, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rolando Larralde, Jr., Antonio Escamilla, Yanier Ramirez, Cesar Rodriguez, Jorge Gonzales, and Jose Peña.
