Felipe (Phillip) Moya Was born on December 8, 1959, in Mathis, Texas and passed away on October 27, 2025 in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Moya and maternal grandparents, Simon and Josefina Moya, and uncles, Juan B. Jalomo & Juan Ramos.
Phillip is survived by his daughter Phyllis Ann Moya, and his only grandchild, Olivia. He is also survived by one sister, Florinda Gonzales (Felipe Ortiz) and three brothers, Fernando (Ivelisse Rivera-Moya), Gilberto Moya, and Robert Moya. He leaves behind aunts Carolina M. Jalomo & Marcela Ramos and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Phillip was born in Mathis but, to the good fortune of many, found his way to Concan where he lived and worked for over four decades. In Concan, Phillip made many life-long friends and, throughout his life, had a lasting impact on friends and visitors to the Concan and Uvalde area. People from all parts of Texas recognized Phillip as a loyal friend and trustworthy employee of the Roosa and Neal's family for over 40 years.
For those who were fortunate to know Phillip well, it is easy to recall his ability to solve any problem. When problems would arise, the conversation would usually involve the phrase, “You better call Phillip”. He also had a unique ability to know where everyone was, day or night, for what seemed to be 24 hours a day. There’s no counting how many he helped keep out of trouble with his keen awareness. One of his greatest traits was reliability and if you were lucky enough to call him a friend, there was nothing that you couldn’t ask of Phillip. Phillip found his greatest joy in his daughter Phyllis Ann, and granddaughter Olivia. The time he spent with them was treasured.
Funeral services will be held at Rushing, Estes, Knowles Funeral Home on Saturday, November 1st at 10:00am, with a viewing beginning at 8:00 am. Burial will follow in Uvalde at the Hillcrest Cemetery. A celebration in his honor will then be held at Neal's Dining Room in Concan at 2pm for all friends and family.
