Petra Garza

Petra R. Garza of Uvalde passed away on August 16, 2022, at her residence at the age of 72. She was born on January 5, 1950, in Knippa, Texas to Matilde (Martinez) and Domingo Rodriguez.

She is survived by her husband, Refugio R. Garza of Uvalde; daughter, Paula Marie Olivarez and husband, Zergio Mata of Uvalde; sons, Refugio “Cuco” Garza and wife, Veronica and Daniel Garza and wife, Edie all of Uvalde; sisters, Maria Villanueva and husband, Arnulfo of Hobbs, New Mexico; brother, Domingo Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Janie of Uvalde; five grandchildren, Refugio Adrian Garza, Mia Celeste Garza, Danielle Garza, Kassandra Zapata, and Xavier Mata; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Juan Rodriguez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
