Peggy Lee Evans

Peggy Lee Evans, 75, of Uvalde, Texas passed away on June 6, 2024, at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. 

She was born on November 22, 1948, in Uvalde, Texas to Mamie (Castro) and Lidio T. Reyes.  

Evans married Jerry Don Evans in Las Vegas.  

Evans was a retired elementary school teacher, instructional facilitator, and elementary assistant principal.  

She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Oklahoma City School of Law.  She also assisted her husband, Jerry, with his law practice in Uvalde.  

Evans is survived by her husband of 44 years of Uvalde; two sisters, Lena Jo Garcia and family of Laredo and Suzanne Reyes of Uvalde, Texas; two special cousins, Shirley Martinez of San Antonio and Linda Stephens of Comanche County Texas ; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Evans is preceded in death by her parents and her loving pets.  

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  

Pallbearers will be John Stephens, David Davis, Raul L. Garcia, Eddie Aranda, Albert Loya, and Mark Devall. 

Honorary pallbearers will be William R. Mitchell, Rudy Flores, Jr., Paul Tarski, Emmett Harris, Christina Ovalle, Jose Martinez, Luis Estrada and Raul P. Garcia.
