Pedro DeLeon

Pedro Aviles DeLeon, 87, passed away January 18, 2024 from a brief illness. ‘Pete” was a resident of Uvalde, TX at the time of his passing; however, he called Delavan, Wisconsin his home.

He was born on August 28, 1936 in Batesville, Texas to Severiana (Aviles) and Porfirio DeLeon.

Pete retired from Chrysler, Belvidere Plant in1996 and moved to Uvalde a year later. He most enjoyed spending time with his 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren scattered between Florida, Texas, Illinois and Wisconsin. He also enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard in pristine condition. He was however torn between being a true Cowboys or Packers fan.

Pete is survived by his wife Delia (Rodriguez) of 63 years, daughters Lisa DeLeon-LaForce (Diesel) of Pflugerville, TX, Linda (Joe) Wojcik, of Clinton, WI and Diane (Dewayne) Gladney of Delavan, WI; sons Oscar of Kenosha, WI, Jerry (Patricia) and Danny (Janelle) of Delavan, WI, and Gary (Leticia) of Rockford, IL. Also survived are his sisters, Carmen Morales, Gloria Rubio both of Uvalde, TX, Irma (Pedro) Hernandez of San Antonio, TX, and Janie (Pete) Buantello of Austin, TX; and his brother Porfidio (Gloria) DeLeon of Batesville, TX. He is also survived by many, many close cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles, his sisters Minerva Sanchez and Estella DeLeon, grandson Jeremy Guzman and daughter-in-law Jacqueline (Oscar) De Leon.

Services will be held at a later date where his ashes will be interred at the Ora Rice Arboretum on Lake Comus in Delavan, Wi.
