Patsie Marie Carter of Uvalde passed away on August 2, 2022, at 214 Martin Assisted Living in Uvalde at the age of 90.

She was born on October 4, 1931, to Anna Lee (Chandler) and Luther Lee Whitehead in Uvalde.

Patsie was very proud of her family and her career as a nurse for Dr. Sterling Fly,  Uvalde Memorial Hospital and at South Texas Children's Home in Beeville.  She was appointed by Governor Dolph Briscoe to the State Board of Vocational Examiners for a 6 year term while employed by South Texas Children’s Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Langner and husband, Larry of Knippa, Rebecca Pribbenow and husband, Troy of Llano, Lebo Turkett and companion, Steve Schaefer of Uvalde, Audrey Sagebiel of Llano; sons, Richard Anderson and wife, Denise of Santa Clara, California and Michael Anderson and wife, Janie of Racine, Wisconsin; step daughters, Janice Power of Lago Vista; and Barbara Pratt of Moody; step sons, Leslie Carter of Little River and Gene Carter of Temple; sister, Carolyn Neff of Bandera; brothers; John Clark of Uvalde, and Joe Clark of Houston; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert M. Anderson; husband, Merwin A. Anderson; husband, Leslie J. Carter; step sons, Willis Carter Sansom and Dennis Lee Carter and 4 sisters and 1 brother.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be to one’s favorite charity is appreciated.
